Chad Gaudin struggled for the Cubs giving up 2 earned runs on 2 hits and a walk in 2 innings. Jeff Samardzija (1 inning, 2 earned runs, 3 hits, 1 walk) and Mike Stanton (1 inning, 3 earned runs, 3 hits) also struggled in relief. Kevin Gregg pitched a 1/3 of an inning – the first time he pitched in back-to-back games this spring.
