With not much else going on these days, might as well shed some light on some great Cubs minor leaguers. David Cales was named the Class A Advanced Reliever of the Year. In 37 games for the Daytona Cubs, Cales saved 14 games with a sparkling 0.78 ERA. He also had a 3-0 record. Although he grew up on the South Side and is an admitted White Sox fan, he knows how to say the right things: “As I became older, I loved Chicago sports all together. It’s an honor to play for the city of Chicago, even in the minors. I couldn’t be happier playing for the Cubs. I’m just a Chicago fan. It’s an absolute privilege playing for a Chicago team.”
Well said – let’s hope both Chicago MLB baseball teams have better 2010′s than their 2009′s…
