Doug Davis made it 3 losses in a row since being elevated to the Cubs starting rotation 2 weeks ago. Davis gave up 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and an embarrassing 6 walks in just 4 2/3 innings of work. It looks like the David reclamation project is not going to work.
The Cubs offense wasn’t much better. They managed just 5 hits on the day and they didn’t score until Alfonso Soriano’s 2-run home run in the 9th inning.
The Cubs fell to and they now trail the 1st place Cards by a whopping 7.5 games and it isn’t even June yet…
