Do or Die for Cubs on Brutal 10-Game Road Trip Against Cards, Reds & Phillies – Wrigley Field 6/3/11

It is do or die for the Cubs on their brutal 10-game road trip against the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies.  The Cubs are a season low 8 games under .500 with a 23-31 record.  They already trail the Cards by 8 games in the NL Central race.  Anything worse than a 5-5 record on the road trip could mean doom and gloom for the northsiders.

Ryan Dempster gets the nod in the opener in St. Louis tonight.  Dempster has won 3 of his last 4 starts even though his ERA still sits at 6.00.

The Cubs need to find a way to get to their recent Cards-nemesis Jaime Garcia who is 5-1 on the season.  Garcia has a career 1.93 ERA against the Cubs and he tossed 7 innings of 1-run ball in a 9-1 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field back on May 12th.

Let’s Go Cubs!
